Just came back from Hong Kong holiday with my friends. A rather short and budget trip of over 4 days. Our air tickets were budget, living in hostel and cheap travelling on bus. The only thing that's not budget was FOOD! Everyday we had close to 6 meals a day, from dim sum to mango desserts to oriental restaurant to road side stall to Jap belts... shall show the goodies we had when the photos ready.
As for shopping, our area of "OPERATION" was mainly in Mongkok, Causeway Bay and Macau. I was madly in search of SD Gundam since I was told prices there are cheap like taipei but DISAPPOINTMENT, I can't find much shops selling SD stuff!! Ended up buying few boxes of BB which were 2x more expensive then Japan, SAD.... but I'm glad I bought the SD Gundam Catalog book. We did saw lots of Transformer toys, excellent for collectors of those, seems like the prices there are pretty attractive...
We also made a trip to Macau to see the wonder casinos...really amazing sights at those blink blink casino...even more amazing is how much money the chinese people are spending there! Somehow feel like they are doing their "dirty money washing" there. Really, seen someone throwing HKG$4000 in just 3 rounds of Big Small Bet. Me, humbly throw in $200.. won $800 BUT, return back all...hee...there's nothing like a free shuttle bus!
Overall impression of Hong Kong for me? I only like it there for 4 days... anything longer then that I should start to feel cramp. I really can't imagine myself staying in such crowded, packed streets everyday. Service standard there is good compared to Singapore even though the Hongkies have to face the "unsightful" China people. Food there, excellent but still can't fight with our mutli-culture variety of food here in SIN. I would head back there to shop and eat but not to stay... you get it?? Buy...Eat..Buy..Eat... remember, the slogon never say experience...
Here's a different blog posting on my works. Now I'm doing a Work In Progress (WIP) instead. Usually I create a posting once I completed one SD, but let's try a different approach this time. And the fun thing is, I'm putting this project on HOLD! There's 2 major "exams" on coming for me this month and early next month to handle first, got to do lots of studying.
Anywhere, I started on the wrong foot for this SD. It's one of the rare ones that you can't find everywhere. The problem is I started priming it without doing sanding one some of the parts! Arrrgghhhh... there goes the prime. So let's make it 10% progress.... it's going to take quite a while....
30 Jun : started working abit, sanding and specific painting
13 Jul : after some effort and time in focusing on it, it's completed! Here's the nice product...

Synopsis:
Unforgettable Encounter.
Two People with Same Birthday
Finding a True Heart as the Greatest Love of All
Different people have different attitudes to love - even those born on the same day in the same year do not necessarily share the same views. YAU CHI-WING (Kevin Cheng) and HUI WAI-YAN (Bosco Wong) were both born on the seventh day of August, but one takes relationships seriously while the other is so money-minded and sees love as a tool to get higher up the social ladder.
The tale begins on the seventh of August, when WING and YAN first encounter their own dream girl on the same island. WING works as a lifeguard on the outlying island. He gets to know pet shop assistant LING KA-YAN (Niki Chow) by chance and is soon mesmerized by her endearing personality. YAN who works at a coffee shop meets a romance comic artist called WONG CHI-KWAN (Natalie Tong). Being misled into believing that the girl is from a rich family, YAN decides to chase her. He would never have thought that someone as calculating as himself would end up falling into a love trap.
Personal Review:
After after months after I got this drama, now I finished watching it. I must say I quite enjoy this love drama and been a little "hooked" on it. Drama mainly talking about the 2 love relationship between 2 couples, Don and Sasa, Wayne and Niki. One bitchy couple the other true love. It's enjoyable to watch the last few series with fun and tears. And the ending is beautiful. Good watch for those who enjoys nice love stories. And here's the mp3 download for those who likes the songs:

Wow, how time flys when you're sick! No joke I guess, I'm still sick btw. The presistant cough is just so hard to get rid off!! I miss CHICKEN for a whole month already!!! I WANT CHICKEN RICE !!!!
Have just cleared one of my yearly exams today. Not having FaNasTic scores but a good pass is what I'm hoping for since it's been only weeks I started back to work. The view is just so great up there.... Great Way to ...
I decided to stop posting my TVB dramas here. For my "pirates" friends, just refer to the TVB collections for the cover picture of the drama. Oh, I'm getting a player for my mum too so that she can watch through direct TV connection. Hope the purchase goes well....
ok, for my footprints next month... KUL-TPE-MLE-PVG-HKG-AKL-PEK
and YES.. finally going to revisit Hong Kong next month. Going up with my work friends, I'm going Gundam shopping as well as DIM SUM!! The courageous plan is to visit Shenzhen-Macau-Hong Kong in 4 days!! Woo Hoo..
Beijing
April 2008
As you can see from the picture on the left, this is the Beijing National Stadium, "Bird's Nest". I decided to walk there since it's just nearby to the hotel I was in. By the way, I was dame surprised to actually find the stadium to be so near, why? Because China is always covered in SMOG!! I didn't even see it the last time round which is 4 months back when I was there! I was dame amazed at how the chinese people are able to get back their "sky" views in such a time. Visibility and air quality were so bad then. That's why I took this photo below and place here in my blog and see if there's a before and after the 2008 Summer Olympics on the enviroment of Beijing.
Oh, have to mention about the new Beijing Airport Terminal 3 also. My boss and I were actually predicting that it's going to be a white elephant after the Olympics. Yes it's huge but would tourist still appear in flocks once they knew China is no longer "cheap"! For those who doesn't know, Rome used to be a fairly economic place to tour before the Olympics, but once the international vistors arrived and "spoil" the market, eveything went rock high! Thanks to our sportsmanship!
Shanghai/Pudong
June 2008
Here's my purchase this time round...got to really rare Gogg & Acguy & Zock but it's really expensive too... but as a collector... what to do but to let my wallet bleed.....
April 2008
Here I am back to Shanghai again and I must say China is getting worse to WORST!! The air quality is SO BAD that my flight was delayed. But to add to some happiness. I found ORIGINAL SD Gundam there! No way!!! China is best known for its piracy and there are copycat versions of Gunpla models there. You can even find them in SIN at half price but the quality is dame lousy. Anywhere because I'm staying at Sherton Tai Ping Yang Hotel, there's a Parkson Shopping Mall nearby so went there for a walk. As usual, toys department is my sure visit place and saw racks of Gundam there! Woo Hoo.. thought my trip is worth is with cheap price like Japan. BUT, prices are the same as SIN after conversion. How can the Chinese people buy toys like that !!! Anywhere, found a couple of the SDs that I'm still searching for. So no choice, pick up 2 first, the rest have to wait for my next trip to minimize my burning wallet...
April 2007
Back from Shanghai, tired as I didn't managed to get a good night sleep before the early flight back.Anywhere, visibility is bad in there, dunno whether is it the mist of the pollution. The people there as usual the normal rude townfolks except for those in uniforms ie.hotel staff, airport personels. But one thing that kept my love for Shanghai, FOOD! I always go to this joint call "Bi Feng Tang" Its like dim sum style makan. You should try their roasted duck's beak, trully one good side dish to go with Bee Ru! Went to the IT mall place like our Sim Lim looking for MS DUO PRO 4GB card, my mate got it at about RMB340, I'm trying to get it at RMB300 instead. Its all about skill of bargining in China! That's why they hate Asians but love Ang Mo! Here's some pic from last trip there....

It hasn't been a good start of for this month because I fell sick, very sick in fact. Got into high fever for 5 days before being admitted into hospital for Pneumonia. So I have been sick on the ground for close to 3 weeks already. All thanks to Delhi! Ya, I seriously think it's the water there!!! So those heading to India, please only drink bottled water!
Anywhere, I always say the big 30 is payback time, never did I expect I'll be paying back so early! Anywhere, good reflection of my life then. First time being hospitalize, first time having to sit on a wheelchair, first time getting a drip... life can be so unexpected at times. So had this experience made any big changes to my life? Nothing much actually but I'm going to value my life more now. Have my medicine, take my supplement, see all the "divine" doctors. And of course exercise! In fact I was going to start when the illness struck!!
Not an easy month to go through since I got another major exam coming, next month will be my medical exam also. Gosh... anywhere, things will go smooth, just take it as it comes...
